#GENERATION(S)

Director: Camille Daloz

Company: le Cri Dévot

Since 2018, Le Cri Dévot has been developing the participatory project entitled #generation(s). The challenge today is to invent, with the complicity of a sample of teenagers of several nationalities, a poetic manifesto of the generation Z on a European scale. To question these young people born in a borderless space, in an ultra-connected world, on the markers of the times with which they identify themselves. What do a teenager from Lozère, Sansepolcro, Gothenburg or Nitra have in common? It will also be the observation of an adult of generation Y (us) on generation Z (them); a story of intergenerational crossing. Each residency will allow for the collection of written, audio and video testimonies: a material that will be put into play at the end of the stay with the young people. At the end, the final text will be staged in the form of a monologue, accompanied by a sound/video creation. A polyphonic, hybrid and all-terrain format, as close as possible to the concerns of the young people.

The Artists

DESIGN, SETTING AND ACTING

Camille Daloz, trained at the Conservatoire d’Art Dramatique de Montpellier in 2007 and graduated with a master’s degree in theater studies from the University of Montpellier III. In 2011 he founds the company Le Cri Dévot and leads a cycle of creation around several mythological rewritings. The company continues its work to promote contemporary writings by presenting these shows in several professional festivals. Immersion and infusion projects allow the company to create times for convivial and artistic encounters, which have become indispensable in the company’s creative process. In this way, it adapts and always invents new articulations around a theme in order to free itself from the classic models of diffusion. He also continues his work as an actor with the company Provisoire (Julien Guill) and Les Arts Oseurs (Périne Faivre).

SOUND CREATION

Allister Sinclair, has been living and working in Montpellier since 2015, as an electronic musician and visual artist. He has worked on interactive sound installations within the contemporary dance and performance company Dodescaden for several years, and has to date composed and performed sound pieces for the theatre company Le Cri Dévot. This research work is part of his collaborations but also of his solo projects, including an electro project that is dancefloor and noise-concrete at the same time and that bears his name.
